Psychological First Aid Course

  • Ahuroa Fire Station 383 West Coast Road Ahuroa, Auckland, 0981 New Zealand (map)

We are pleased to be offering a Psychological First Aid course, delivered by the Red Cross.

This is a valuable opportunity for our community, particularly given how isolation and extreme weather events can impact not just our physical safety, but our mental wellbeing as well.

Psychological First Aid is about knowing how to support people in the immediate aftermath of a stressful or traumatic event, whether that’s a flood, storm, accident, or personal crisis. It provides practical tools to help people feel safe, supported, and better able to cope.

This course is:

  • Free to attend

  • Limited to 20 people

  • Open to members of our catchment community

Places are limited, so early registration is essential.

If you are interested in attending, please get in touch to secure your place.

Building resilience in our community isn’t just about infrastructure, it’s also about people having the skills and confidence to support one another when it matters most.

Emergency preparedness is not just about equipment or plans. It is about people.

It is about knowing your neighbours.
It is about having the confidence to step in when something happens.
It is about being able to support both the physical and emotional wellbeing of those around you.

The stronger our skills and connections, the more resilient our community becomes.
